Jeremiah 13:11

For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

c. Classic Amplified: For as the girdle clings to the loins of a man, so I caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me, says the Lord, that they might be for Me a people, a name, a praise, and a glory; but they would not listen or obey.

d. Septuagint: For as a girdle cleaves about the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave to myself the house of Israel, and the whole house of Juda; that they might be to me a famous people, and a praise, and a glory: but they did not hearken to me. 

e. Stone Edition Torah/Prophets/ Writings: For just as a belt is fastened to a man’s loins, so I fastened to Myself the entire house of Israel and the entire House of Judah, the word of HASHEM, to be unto Me a people, and for renown, for praise, and for splendor, but they would not listen [to Me].

1. “For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, 

a. f. [the] loins [Strong: 4975 môthen, mo'-then; from an unused root meaning to be slender; properly, the waist or small of the back; only in plural the loins:— greyhound, loins, side.]
