1). Gordon Lindsay, The Life and Teachings of Christ: Zacharias, as many others since have done, tried to reason out how a miracle could take place. “Whereby shall I know this? For i am an old man, and my wife is well stricken in years?” (Verse 18). Zacharias wanted a sign and he got it. The angel in rebuke told him he was to be ttricken dumb until the event of the birth of the child took place.
