Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

1. “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,” 

a. Blessed [be] [Strong: 2128 eulogētós, yoo-log-ay-tos'; from G2127; adorable:—blessed.]

g. [he hath] visited [Strong: 1980 episképtomai, ep-ee-skep'-tom-ahee; middle voice from G1909 and the base of G4649; to inspect, i.e. (by implication) to select; by extension, to go to see, relieve:—look out, visit.]

1). Barnes' Notes on the Bible: hath visited - The word here rendered "visited" means properly "to look upon;" then to look upon in order "to know the state of anyone;" then to visit for the purpose of "aiding those who need aid," or alleviating misery.

2). In its uses it seems to show that God is in the process of fulfilling and doing what he promised.

a). Genesis 21:1 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

b). Exodus 3:16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:

c). 1 Samuel 2:21 And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.

d). Ezekiel 38:8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.

i. redeemed [Strong: 3085 lýtrōsis, loo'-tro-sis; from G3084; a ransoming (figuratively):—+ redeemed, redemption.]

1). The plan of redemption in its completion included all mankind, and was conceived in the heart of the triune Godhead before the earth was created.

a). 1 Peter 1:18-20 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
