1). All the difficulty regarding the deepest desires of the heart of man regarding the things of God have been removed. The chasm between God us has been bridged by the love and mercy of God. The solution for the fall of man was planned out since before the creation of the earth. We did not go to Him, He came to us!
a). Deuteronomy 30:11-14 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
30:12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
30:13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
30:14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
2). The Apostle Paul used this passage to display the simplicity of the gospel.
a). Romans 10:5-10 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
3). Jesus repeatedly stated this same thing in His preaching to the Jewish people.
a). John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
b). John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
c). John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
