Ephesians 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

a. NLT: All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

b. NIV: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

c. YLT: Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who did bless us in every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

d. Amplified Bible Classic: May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm!

1. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ…”

a. Blessed [be] [Strong: 2128 * ogetos yoo-log-ay-tos' from 2127; adorable:--blessed.]

b. the [Strong: 3588 * ho ho, including the feminine he hay, and the neuter to to in all their inflections; the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.]

c. God [Strong: 2316 * theos theh'-os of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with 3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).]

d. and [Strong: 2532 * kai kahee apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]

e. Father [Strong: 3962 * pater pat-ayr' apparently a primary word; a "father" (literally or figuratively, near or more remote):--father, parent.]

f. of our [Strong: 2257 * hemon hay-mone' genitive case plural of 1473; of (or from) us:--our (company), us, we.]

g. Lord [Strong: 2962 * kurios koo'-ree-os from kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication, Master (as a respectful title):-- God, Lord, master, Sir.]

h. Jesus [Strong: 2424 * Iesous ee-ay-sooce' of Hebrew origin (3091); Jesus (i.e. Jehoshua), the name of our Lord and two (three) other Israelites:--Jesus.]

i. Christ [Strong: 5547 * Christos khris-tos' from 5548; anointed, i.e. the Messiah, an epithet of Jesus:--Christ.]

1). Here the Father of Christ Jesus is also called his God. In Hebrews 1 the Father calls the Son God.

a). Hebrews 1:8  But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

2. “…who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”

c. hath blessed [Strong: 2127 * eulogeo yoo-log-eh'-o from a compound of 2095 and 3056; to speak well of, i.e. (religiously) to bless (thank or invoke a benediction upon, prosper):--bless, praise.] [Gesenius: to cause to prosper, to bestow blessings on, to ask God’s blessings on.]

d. us [Strong: 2248 * hemas hay-mas' accusative case plural of 1473; us:--our, us, we.]

1). All spiritual blessings in the heavenlies refers to every blessing of the New Covenant we have through Christ Jesus and what He accomplished by His death, burial and resurrection. The New Birth, that allows God to dwell inside us. The privilege of intimate prayer and fellowship with God and the privilege to praise and worship Him in spirit and truth. Becoming sons and daughters of God. Transference out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God. The authority of the believer over all angelic hosts good and bad. There are many many more that because of space I cannot mention them. We are Blessed! Hallelujah!
