Isaiah 60:6




The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.

a. NLT: Vast caravans of camels will converge on you, the camels of Midian and Ephah.
The people of Sheba will bring gold and frankincense and will come worshiping the LORD.

b. NIV: Herds of camels will cover your land, young camels of Midian and Ephah. And all from Sheba will come, bearing gold and incense and proclaiming the praise of the LORD.

c. YLT:  A company of camels covereth thee, Dromedaries of Midian and Ephah, All of them from Sheba do come, Gold and frankincense they bear, And of the praises of Jehovah they proclaim the tidings.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: A multitude of camels [from the eastern trading tribes] shall cover you [Jerusalem], the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all the men from Sheba [who once came to trade] shall come, bringing gold and frankincense and proclaiming the praises of the Lord.

e. Septuagint: and the camels of Madiam and Gaepha shall cover thee: all from Saba shall come bearing gold, and shall bring frankincense, and they shall publish the salvation of the Lord.

a. The multitude [Strong: 8229 shiph`ah shif-aw' feminine of 8228; copiousness:--abundance, company, multitude.]

b. of camels [Strong: 1581 gamal gaw-mawl' apparently from 1580 (in the sense of labor or burden-bearing); a camel:--camel.]

c. shall cover [thee] [Strong: 3680 kacah kaw-saw' a primitive root; properly, to plump, i.e. fill up hollows; by implication, to cover (for clothing or secrecy):--clad self, close, clothe, conceal, cover (self), (flee to) hide, overwhelm.]

2. “…the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come…”

a. the dromedaries [Strong: 1070 beker beh'-ker from 1069 (in the sense of youth); a young camel:-- dromedary.]

b. of Midian [Strong: 4080 Midyan mid-yawn' the same as 4079; Midjan, a son of Abraham; also his country and (collectively) his descendants:--Midian, Midianite.]

c. and Ephah [Strong: 5891 `Eyphah ay-faw' the same as 5890; Ephah, the name of a son of Midian, and of the region settled by him; also of an Israelite and of an Israelitess:--Ephah.]

d.  all [they] [Strong: 3605 kol kole or (Jer. 33:8) kowl {kole}; from 3634; properly, the whole; hence, all, any or every (in the singular only, but often in a plural sense):--(in) all (manner, (ye)), altogether, any (manner), enough, every (one, place, thing), howsoever, as many as, (no-)thing, ought, whatsoever, (the) whole, whoso(-ever).]

e. from Sheba [Strong:  7614 Shba' sheb-aw' of foreign origin; Sheba, the name of three early progenitors of tribes and of an Ethiopian district:--Sheba, Sabeans.]

f. shall come [Strong: 935 bow' bo a primitive root; to go or come (in a wide variety of applications):--abide, apply, attain, X be, befall, + besiege, bring (forth, in, into, to pass), call, carry, X certainly, (cause, let, thing for) to come (against, in, out, upon, to pass), depart, X doubtless again, + eat, + employ, (cause to) enter (in, into, -tering, -trance, -try), be fallen, fetch, + follow, get, give, go (down, in, to war), grant, + have, X indeed, (in-)vade, lead, lift (up), mention, pull in, put, resort, run (down), send, set, X (well) stricken (in age), X surely, take (in), way.]

3. “…they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.”

a. they shall bring [Strong: 5375 nasa' naw-saw' or nacah (Psalm 4 : 6 (7)) {naw-saw'}; a primitive root; to lift, in a great variety of applications, literal and figurative, absol. and rel. (as follows):--accept, advance, arise, (able to, (armor), suffer to) bear(-er, up), bring (forth), burn, carry (away), cast, contain, desire, ease, exact, exalt (self), extol, fetch, forgive, furnish, further, give, go on, help, high, hold up, honorable (+ man), lade, lay, lift (self) up, lofty, marry, magnify, X needs, obtain, pardon, raise (up), receive, regard, respect, set (up), spare, stir up, + swear, take (away, up), X utterly, wear, yield.]

b. gold [Strong: 2091 * 2091 zahab zaw-hawb' from an unused root meaning to shimmer; gold, figuratively, something gold-colored (i.e. yellow), as oil, a clear sky:-- gold(-en), fair weather.]

c. and incense [Strong: 3828 lbownah leb-o-naw' or lbonah {leb-o-naw'}; from 3836; frankincense (from its whiteness or perhaps that of its smoke): -(frank-)incense.]

d. they shall show forth [Strong: 1319 basar baw-sar' a primitive root; properly, to be fresh, i.e. full (rosy, (figuratively) cheerful); to announce (glad news):--messenger, preach, publish, shew forth, (bear, bring, carry, preach, good, tell good) tidings.]

e. the praises [Strong: 8416 thillah teh-hil-law' from 1984; laudation; specifically (concretely) a hymn:--praise.]

f. of the LORD [Strong: 3068 * Yhovah yeh-ho-vaw' from 1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God:--Jehovah, the Lord.]
