Isaiah 60:3



Isaiah 60:3

And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

a. NLT: All nations will come to your light; mighty kings will come to see your radiance.

b. NIV: Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

c. YLT: And come have nations to thy light, And kings to the brightness of thy rising.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

1. “And the Gentiles shall come to thy light…

a. the Gentiles [Strong: 1471 * gowy go'-ee rarely (shortened) goy {go'-ee}; apparently from the same root as 1465 (in the sense of massing); a foreign nation; hence, a Gentile; also (figuratively) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts:--Gentile, heathen, nation, people.]

b. shall come [Strong: 1980 * halak haw-lak' akin to 3212; a primitive root; to walk (in a great variety of applications, literally and figuratively):--(all) along, apace, behave (self), come, (on) continually, be conversant, depart, + be eased, enter, exercise (self), + follow, forth, forward, get, go (about, abroad, along, away, forward, on, out, up and down), + greater, grow, be wont to haunt, lead, march, X more and more, move (self), needs, on, pass (away), be at the point, quite, run (along), + send, speedily, spread, still, surely, + tale-bearer, + travel(-ler), walk (abroad, on, to and fro, up and down, to places), wander, wax, (way-)faring man, X be weak, whirl.]

c. to thy light [Strong: 216 * 'owr ore from 215; illumination or (concrete) luminary (in every sense, including lightning, happiness, etc.):--bright, clear, + day, light (-ning), morning, sun.]

2. “…and kings to the brightness of thy rising.”

a. kings [Strong: 4428 * melek meh'-lek from 4427; a king:--king, royal.]

b. to the brightness [Strong: 5051 * nogahh no'-gah from 5050; brilliancy (literally or figuratively):--bright(-ness), light, (clear) shining.]

c. of thy rising [Strong: 2225 * zerach zeh'-rakh from 2224; a rising of light:--rising.]
