Galatians 3:16
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
a. NLT: God gave the promises to Abraham and his child. And notice that the Scripture doesn’t say “to his children,” as if it meant many descendants. Rather, it says “to his child”—and that, of course, means Christ.
b. NIV: The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.
c. YLT: and to Abraham were the promises spoken, and to his seed; He doth not say, 'And to seeds,' as of many, but as of one, 'And to thy seed,' which is Christ;
d. Amplified Bible Classic: Now the promises (covenants, agreements) were decreed and made to Abraham and his Seed (his Offspring, his Heir). He [God] does not say, And to seeds (descendants, heirs), as if referring to many persons, but, And to your Seed (your Descendant, your Heir), obviously referring to one individual, Who is [none other than] Christ (the Messiah).
e. Worrell Translation: Now to Abraham were the promises spoken, and to his Seed. He saith not, “And to seeds,” as on many; but as of One, “and to your Seed”; which is Christ.
f. Wuest Translation: Noe to Abraham were made the promises, and to his Descendant. He does not say, And to the descendants, as respect to many descendants, but in respect to one Descendant, and to your Descendant, who is Christ.

j. promises [Strong: 1860 epaggelia ep-ang-el-ee'-ah from 1861; an announcement (for information, assent or pledge; especially a divine assurance of good):--message, promise.]
1). As we shall see, the seed is Christ. The promises were made to Abraham and Christ in Genesis 15:7-21 at the Covenant of the parts.
a). Genesis 15:7-21 And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
15:8 And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
15:9And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
15:10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
15:11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
15:12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
15:14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15:15And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
15:16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
15:17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
15:19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
15:20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
15:21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
2). According to Jeremiah 34, when Covenants were made such as the one in Genesis 15, the participants passed through the pieces and swore they would fulfill their part of the Covenant.
a). Jeremiah 34:18 And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,
3). We know what some of the promises were that were given to Abraham in the Genesis 15 Covenant for they were listed in Genesis 15, it involved the deliverance of Israel from Egypt (Genesis 15:13-16). Some of the other promises involved the geography of Canaan (Genesis 15:18-21), to be given to Abraham’s physical descendants. Along with those promises, are those also revealed in the New Covenant, particularly in Galatians 3 that were involved in the Genesis 15 Covenant. Galatians 3:13 speaks about the promise of the redemption of mankind through the seed (Christ) being crucified on the cross, that would allow the blessing of Abraham, salvation to the world through faith (Galatians 3:14). What Paul is basically saying in Galatians 3:5-19 is that the redemption of mankind including all of the inheritance of the New Covenant were the promises declared in that Covenant. In light of that, the promises uttered by the pre-Incarnate Christ could have been something along these lines: “I will die a sacrificial death shedding my sinless blood to redeem all of mankind, bringing with it all the promises of the New Covenant incorporated in salvation, including eternal life, safety, deliverance, preservation, healing and soundness.”
2. “…He saith not, And to seeds, as of many;
