Colossians 3:4

Colossians 3:4

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

a. NLT: And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

b. NIV: When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

c. YLT: When the Christ -- our life -- may be manifested, then also we with him shall be manifested in glory.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: When Christ, Who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in [the splendor of His] glory.

e. Worrell Translation: When Christ, our Life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with Him be manifested in glory.

f. Wuest Translation: Whenever the Messiah is made visible, our life, then also you with Him shall be manifested in glory.

1. “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear…”

a. When [Strong: 3752 hotan hot'-an from 3753 and 302; whenever (implying hypothesis or more or less uncertainty); also causatively (conjunctionally) inasmuch as:--as long (soon) as, that, + till, when(-soever), while.]

b. Christ [Strong: 5547 Christos khris-tos' from 5548; anointed, i.e. the Messiah, an epithet of Jesus:--Christ.]

c. who is our [Strong: 2257 hemon hay-mone' genitive case plural of 1473; of (or from) us:--our (company), us, we.]

a). Deuteronomy 30: 19, 20 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
30:20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

d. life [Strong: life [Strong: 2222 zoe dzo-ay' from 2198; life (literally or figuratively):--life(-time).]

e. shall appear [Strong: 5319 phaneroo fan-er-o'-o from 5318; to render apparent (literally or figuratively):--appear, manifestly declare, (make) manifest (forth), shew (self).]

2. “…then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”

c. ye [Strong: 5210 humeis hoo-mice' irregular plural of 4771; you (as subjective of verb):--ye (yourselves), you.]

d. also [Strong: 2532 kai kahee apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]

e. with [Strong: 4862 sun soon a primary preposition denoting union; with or together (but much closer than 3326 or 3844), i.e. by association, companionship, process, resemblance, possession, instrumentality, addition, etc.:--beside, with. In composition it has similar applications, including completeness.]
