Romans 16:12

Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute the beloved Persis, which laboured much in the Lord.

a. ASV: Salute Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who labor in the Lord. Salute Persis the beloved, who labored much in the Lord.

  

b. YLT: Salute Tryphaena, and Tryphosa, who are labouring in the Lord; salute Persis, the beloved, who did labour much in the Lord.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: Salute those workers in the Lord, Tryphaena and Tryphosa. Greet my dear Persis, who has worked so hard in the Lord.

1. “Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord…”

a. Salute [Strong: 782 aspázomai, as-pad'-zom-ahee; from G1 (as a particle of union) and a presumed form of G4685; to enfold in the arms, i.e. (by implication) to salute, (figuratively) to welcome:—embrace, greet, salute, take leave.]

b. Tryphena [Strong: 5170 Trýphaina, troo'-fahee-nah; from G5172; luxurious; Tryphæna, a Christian woman:—Tryphena.]

c. and [Strong: 2532 kaí, kahee; apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:—and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]

d. Tryphosa [Strong: 5173 Tryphōsa, troo-fo'-sah; from G5172; luxuriating; Tryphosa, a Christian female:—Tryphosa.]

g. labor [Strong: 2872 kopiáō, kop-ee-ah'-o; from a derivative of G2873; to feel fatigue; by implication, to work hard:—(bestow) labour, toil, be wearied.]
