Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints which are with them.

1. “Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas…”

a. Salute [Strong: 782 aspázomai, as-pad'-zom-ahee; from G1 (as a particle of union) and a presumed form of G4685; to enfold in the arms, i.e. (by implication) to salute, (figuratively) to welcome:—embrace, greet, salute, take leave.]

b. Philologus [Strong: 5378 Philólogos, fil-ol'-og-os; from G5384 and G3056; fond of words, i.e. talkative (argumentative, learned, "philological"); Philologus, a Christian:—Philologus.]

c. and [Strong: 2532 kaí, kahee; apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:—and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]

d. Julia [Strong: 2456 Ioulía, ee-oo-lee'-ah; feminine of the same as G2457; Julia, a Christian woman:—Julia.]

e. Nereus [Strong: 3517 Nēreús, nare-yoos'; apparently from a derivative of the base of G3491 (meaning wet); Nereus, a Christian:—Nereus.]

  

g. and [Strong: 2532 kaí, kahee; apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:—and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]

h. his [Strong: 846 autós, ow-tos'; from the particle αὖ aû (perhaps akin to the base of G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:—her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which.]
