Ezekiel 21:26

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.

a. ASV: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Remove the mitre, and take off the crown; this shall be no more the same; exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.

b. YLT: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Turn aside the mitre, and bear away the crown, This -- not this -- the low make high, And the high make low.

c. Classic Amplified: Thus says the Lord God: Remove the [high priest’s] miter or headband and take off the [king’s] crown; things shall not remain as they have been; the low is to be exalted and the high is to be brought low.

d. Septuagint: Thou hast taken off the mitre and put on the crown, it shall not have such [another] after it: thou hast abased that which was high, and exalted that which was low.

1. “Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown…”

d. GOD [Strong: 3069 Yᵉhôvih, yeh-ho-vee'; a variation of H3068 [used after H136, and pronounced by Jews as H430, in order to prevent the repetition of the same sound, since they elsewhere pronounce H3068 as H136]:—God.]

2. “...this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.”

e. [him that is] low [Strong: 8217 shâphâl, shaw-fawl'; from H8213; depressed, literally or figuratively:—base(-st), humble, low(-er, -ly).]

f. abase [Strong: 8213 shâphêl, shaw-fale'; a primitive root; to depress or sink (especially figuratively, to humiliate, intransitive or transitive):—abase, bring (cast, put) down, debase, humble (self), be (bring, lay, make, put) low(-er).

g. [him that is] high [Strong: 1364 gâbôahh, gaw-bo'-ah; or גָּבוֹהַּ gâbôwahh; (fully) from H1361; elevated (or elated), powerful, arrogant:—haughty, height, high(-er), lofty, proud, × exceeding proudly.]

 1). Note in Stone Edition Torah/Prophets/Writings: The crown of Zedekiah will not remain with him much longer. King Jehoichin, who has already been exiled, will be shown clemency (2 Kings 25:27-30), while Zedekiah, who currently occupies the throne, will be disgraced, being forced to watch all his sons slaughtered, then blinded and led off to Babylonia (Radak).
