Ezekiel 36:30

Ezekiel 36:30

And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

a. ASV: And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.

b. YLT: And I have multiplied the fruit of the tree, And the increase of the field, So that ye receive not any more a reproach of famine among nations.

c. Classic Amplified: And I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field, that you may no more suffer the reproach and disgrace of famine among the nations.

d. Septuagint: And I will multiply the fruit of the trees, and the produce of the field, that ye may not bear the reproach of famine among the nations.

1. “And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field…”

a. 2. “...that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.”

e. reproach [Strong: 2781 cherpâh, kher-paw'; from H2778; contumely, disgrace, the pudenda:—rebuke, reproach(-fully), shame.]

f. [of] famine [Strong: 7458 râʻâb, raw-awb'; from H7456; hunger (more or less extensive):—dearth, famine, famished, hunger.]

g. [among the] heathen [Strong: 1471 gôwy, go'-ee; rarely (shortened) גֹּי gôy; apparently from the same root as H1465 (in the sense of massing); a foreign nation; hence, a Gentile; also (figuratively) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts:—Gentile, heathen, nation, people.]

The Millennial Kingdom, John Walvoord, p.317, 318: “Another important factor in the millennium is the fact that the curse which descended upon the physical world because of Adam’s sin is apparently lifted during the millennium. According to the prophet Isaiah: The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad: and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon: they shall see the glory of Jehovah, the excellency of our God” (Isaiah 35:1, 2). The rest of the thirty-fifth chapter of Isaiah continues in the same theme. Abundant rainfall characterizes the period (Isaiah 30:23; 35:7) and the abundance of food and cattle are pictured (Isaiah 30:23, 24). Though the curse on the earth is only partially lifted as indicated by the continuance of death, and will remain in some measure until the New Heaven and new earth are brought in (Revelation 22:3), the land of Palestine will once again be a garden. The world in general will be delivered from the unproductiveness which characterized great portions of the globe in prior dispensations.”
