Ezekiel 36:26

Ezekiel 36:26

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

1. “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you…”

1). The time context of this is after the return of Christ. Israel will recognize Christ as their Messiah and as a nation will declare Him Lord. This passage is referring to Israel as a nation being born again. This phrase a new spirit and a new heart is referring to the New Birth of the New Covenant. 

a). 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

b). Titus 3:4, 5 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

2). Israel shall be saved as a nation, it is an Old Covenant promise, but will not be fulfilled until the return of Christ.
a). Romans 11:25-27 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

3). After the return of Christ and the rebirth of Israel, the establishing of Christ’s Millennial Reign begins, during which all the passages referring to the millennial Reign of Christ in the Prophets are fulfilled. 

2. “...and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.”

d. [out of your] flesh [Strong: 1320 bâsâr, baw-sawr'; from H1319; flesh (from its freshness); by extension, body, person; also (by euphemistically) the pudenda of a man:—body, (fat, lean) flesh(-ed), kin, (man-) kind, nakedness, self, skin.]
