Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

1). The Acts of the Apostles, Robert A. Tourville: Paul explained the baptism of John and the baptism of Jesus. They had believed on Jesus because Apollos taught “accurately the things concerning Jesus (Acts 18:25). For some reason they, as Apollos (when he ministered to them), had not heard that Jesus had sent the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. They did not know the baptism of the Spirit was for them. Paul explained it was (Acts 1:4, 5; 2:4; 2:39).
