1. “And he became very hungry, and would have eaten…”

2. “...but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,”

This condition can come about through the influence on the human spirit by the Holy Spirit or an evil spirit. The usage of the word ekstasis is widely distributed in the LXX from Genesis through Zecgharuah (29 times)...The spirit of Peter was lifted out of its norman condition so that he could see, experience an hear a communication from a heavenly level of existence…This communication is initiated by and controlled by God Himself for the salvation of the Gentile world.
