 Genesis 27:36

And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?

e. Jacob [Strong: 3290 Ya`aqob yah-ak-obe' from 6117; heel-catcher (i.e. supplanter); Jaakob, the Israelitish patriarch:--Jacob.]

1). He was named Jacob which means heel-catcher which he was (Genesis 25:26) and supplanter, which he would be, he, the younger would take the place of the elder (Genesis 25:23). The definition of supplanter means someone or something taking the place of another, as through force, scheming, strategy, or the like (Dictionary.com).

f.
