Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,

1. “Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,”


a. Where [Strong: 335 ʼay, ah'ee; perhaps from H370; where? hence how?:—how, what, whence, where, whether, which (way).]


b. [is the] way [Strong: 1870 derek, deh'-rek; from H1869; a road (as trodden); figuratively, a course of life or mode of action, often adverb:—along, away, because of, by, conversation, custom, (east-) ward, journey, manner, passenger, through, toward, (high-) (path-) way(-side), whither(-soever).]


c. [where] light [Strong: 216 ʼôwr, ore; from H215; illumination or (concrete) luminary (in every sense, including lightning, happiness, etc.):—bright, clear, day, light (-ning), morning, sun.]


d. dwelleth [Strong: 7931 shâkan, shaw-kan'; a primitive root (apparently akin (by transmission) to H7901 through the idea of lodging; compare H5531, H7925); to reside or permanently stay (literally or figuratively):—abide, continue, (cause to, make to) dwell(-er), have habitation, inhabit, lay, place, (cause to) remain, rest, set (up).]
