19:19
Behold now, thy servant hath
found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast
shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest
some evil take me, and I die:
a. NLT: “You have been so gracious to
me and saved my life, and you have shown such great kindness. But I cannot go
to the mountains. Disaster would catch up to me there, and I would soon die.
b. NIV: Yourfn servant
has found favor in yourfn eyes, and you have shown great kindness to
me in sparing my life. But I can’t flee to the mountains; this disaster will
overtake me, and I’ll die.
c. YLT: lo, I pray
thee, thy servant hath found grace in thine eyes, and thou dost make great thy
kindness which thou hast done with me by saving my life, and I am unable to
escape to the mountain, lest the evil cleaveto me, and I have died;
d. Amplified Bible: Behold
now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your
kindness and mercy to me in saving my life; but I cannot escape to the
mountains, lest the evil overtake me, and I die.
