1 Kings 18:29

And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

a. ASV: And it was so, when midday was past, that they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening oblation; but there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

b. YLT: And it cometh to pass, at the passing by of the noon, that they feign themselves prophets till the going up of the present, and there is no voice, and there is none answering, and there is none attending.

c. Amplified Bible Classic: Midday passed, and they played the part of prophets until the time for offering the evening sacrifice, but there was no voice, no answer, no one who paid attention.

1). This is referring to the morning and evening sacrifice commanded originally in Exodus.

a). Exodus 29:38-41 Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year day by day continually.
29:39 The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even:
29:40 And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering.
29:41 And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

b). Also mentioned in Numbers 28:3-8 and Leviticus 6:8-13. The evening sacrifice took place between 3 and 6 PM (the 9th and 12th hours).

2). The hollering and cutting and bleeding and jumping was from about 9 AM to around 3 PM

3. “...that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.”

a.
