Romans 14:22

Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

a. ASV: The faith which thou hast, have thou to thyself before God. Happy is he that judgeth not himself in that which he approveth.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: Your personal convictions [on such matters]—exercise [them] as in God’s presence, keeping them to yourself [striving only to know the truth and obey His will]. Blessed (happy, to be envied) is he who has no reason to judge himself for what he approves [who does not convict himself by what he chooses to do].

1. “Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God…”

a. 2.  “...Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.”

a. Happy [Strong: 3107 makários, mak-ar'-ee-os; a prolonged form of the poetical μάκαρ mákar (meaning the same); supremely blest; by extension, fortunate, well off:—blessed, happy(X -ier).]

b. c. not [Strong: 3361 mḗ, may; a primary particle of qualified negation (whereas G3756 expresses an absolute denial); (adverb) not, (conjunction) lest; also (as an interrogative implying a negative answer (whereas G3756 expects an affirmative one)) whether:—any but (that), × forbear, + God forbid, + lack, lest, neither, never, no (X wise in), none, nor, (can-)not, nothing, that not, un(-taken), without. d. himself [Strong: 1478 heautoû, heh-ow-too'; from a reflexive pronoun otherwise obsolete and the genitive case (dative case or accusative case) of G846; him- (her-, it-, them-, also (in conjunction with the personal pronoun of the other persons) my-, thy-, our-, your-) self (selves), etc.:—alone, her (own, -self), (he) himself, his (own), itself, one (to) another, our (thine) own(-selves), + that she had, their (own, own selves), (of) them(-selves), they, thyself, you, your (own, own conceits, own selves, -selves).]

h. he alloweth [Strong: 1381 dokimázō, dok-im-ad'-zo; from 1384; to test (literally or figuratively); by implication, to approve:—allow, discern, examine, × like, (ap-)prove, try.]

1). The bottom line is this: our personal convictions are between us and God and we can rejoice in them, but if we throw our convictions in the face of a believer you does not share our convictions, causing them to be offended we are sinning against them and God.
