Romans 15:17

I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.

a. ASV: I have therefore my glorying in Christ Jesus in things pertaining to God.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: In Christ Jesus, then, I have legitimate reason to glory (exult) in my work for God [in what through Christ Jesus I have accomplished concerning the things of God].

1. “I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.”

a. I have [Strong: 2192 échō, ekh'-o; a primary verb; to hold (used in very various applications, literally or figuratively, direct or remote; such as possession; ability, contiuity, relation, or condition):—be (able, × hold, possessed with), accompany, + begin to amend, can(+ -not), × conceive, count, diseased, do + eat, + enjoy, + fear, following, have, hold, keep, + lack, + go to law, lie, + must needs, + of necessity, + need, next, +recover, + reign, + rest, + return, × sick, take for, + tremble, + uncircumcised, use.]

b. therefore whereof [Strong: 3767 oûn, oon; apparently a primary word; (adverbially) certainly, or (conjunctionally) accordingly:—and (so, truly), but, now (then), so (likewise then), then, therefore, verily, wherefore.]

c. [I] may glory [Strong: 2746 kaúchēsis, kow'-khay-sis; from G2744; boasting (properly, the act; by implication, the object), in a good or a bad sense:—boasting, whereof I may glory, glorying, rejoicing.]

In the comparative case, it denotes essentially the same applications, namely, motion towards, accession to, or nearness at.]
