Romans 15:3

Romans 15:3

For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

a. ASV: For Christ also pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell upon me.
  
b. YLT: For even the Christ did not please himself, but, according as it hath been written, 'The reproaches of those reproaching Thee fell upon me;'
d. Amplified Bible Classic: For Christ did not please Himself [gave no thought to His own interests]; but, as it is written, The reproaches and abuses of those who reproached and abused you fell on Me.
1. “For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written…”

a. For [Strong: 1063 gár, gar; a primary particle; properly, assigning a reason (used in argument, explanation or intensification; often with other particles):—and, as, because (that), but, even, for, indeed, no doubt, seeing, then, therefore, verily, what, why, yet.]

e. not [Strong: 3756 ou, oo; a primary word; the absolute negative (compare G3361) adverb; no or not:—+ long, nay, neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy), when, + without, + yet but.]

2. “...The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.”
