T.]

1). This woman received a revelation from the Holy Ghost that no one else did, and Jesus acknowledged it and was honoring her. I have to give the whole credit for my knowing this to my former Pastor’s wife Wanda Mannix who was a teaching Pastor at Williamsburg Pentecostal Church. Sister Wanda taught college level classes every Wednesday evening at church. The first time I ever heard that Mary had received this revelation was when Sis. Wanda taught it.
2). Pulpit Commentary: By this effusion of the precious unguent site anticipated the embalming of the Lord's body; she showed her reverence for that body which was to be given for the life of the world not many days hence.
3). This was the same Mary who chose to sit at Jesus' feet and heard his words. It was because of this devotion that she received a revelation that even the disciples didn’t get, that Christ was soon to die.
a). Luke 10:38-42 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
10:40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
10:42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
