Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.

1). The King’s Highway runs south through Damascus and east of the Jordan valley. Most sources have it going all the way to Ezion-geber and then west over to Egypt. But both Zondervan editions, the 1989 edition and the 2010 edition have the King’s Highway running south to Bozrah, higher up in the Negev and then turning west past Mount Hor and on into Egypt. The Zondervan maps have the highway cutting right through Edom which makes sense because the highway is higher up in the Negev and Israel offered to take the highway east to Bazrah and north to the plains of Moab.
