[So we] abode [Strong: 3427 yâshab, yaw-shab'; a primitive root; properly, to sit down (specifically as judge. in ambush, in quiet); by implication, to dwell, to remain; causatively, to settle, to marry:—(make to) abide(-ing), continue, (cause to, make to) dwell(-ing), ease self, endure, establish, × fail, habitation, haunt, (make to) inhabit(-ant), make to keep (house), lurking, × marry(-ing), (bring again to) place, remain, return, seat, set(-tle), (down-) sit(-down, still, -ting down, -ting (place) -uate), take, tarry.]

b. [in the] valley [Strong: 1516 gayʼ, gah'-ee; or (shortened) גַּי gay; probably (by transmutation) from the same root as H1466 (abbreviated); a gorge (from its lofty sides; hence, narrow, but not a gully or winter-torrent):—valley.]

d. Bethpeor [Strong: 1047 Bêyth Pᵉʻôwr, bayth pe-ore'; from H1004 and H6465; house of Peor; Beth-Peor, a place East of the Jordan:—Bethpeor.]

e. [Strong: 1047 Bêyth Pᵉʻôwr, bayth pe-ore'; from H1004 and H6465; house of Peor; Beth-Peor, a place East of the Jordan:—Bethpeor.]

1). As far as I can gather, this location (Beth-peor) is the location where Israel had its base camp while the army waged its battles against Sihon and Og.

a). Numbers 21:17-20 Then Israel sang this song, Spring up, O well; sing ye unto it:

21:18 The princes digged the well, the nobles of the people digged it, by the direction of the lawgiver, with their staves. And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah:

21:19 And from Mattanah to Nahaliel: and from Nahaliel to Bamoth:

21:20 And from Bamoth in the valley, that is in the country of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looketh toward Jeshimon.

b). Numbers 33:47 And they removed from Almondiblathaim, and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

(1) Pisgah and Nebo are names of the same mountain. Note also that in Numbers 27:12 the LORD told Moses to climb the mountain Abarim to see the promised land.

2). It is after the battles with Sihon and Og that Israel moved from Bethpeor (the mountains of Abarim, Numbers 33:48), to Shittim.

a). Numbers 33:47, 48 And they removed from Almondiblathaim, and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

33:48 And they departed from the mountains of Abarim, and pitched in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.

b). Numbers 22:1 And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho.

b). Numbers 25:1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
