Ezekiel 40:38

And the chambers and the entries thereof were by the posts of the gates, where they washed the burnt offering.

a. ASV: And a chamber with the door thereof was by the posts at the gates; there they washed the burnt-offering.

b. YLT: And the chamber and its opening is by the posts of the gates, there they purge the burnt-offering.

c. Classic Amplified: There was an attached chamber with its door beside the posts or pillars of the gates where the burnt offering was to be washed.

d. Septuagint: Its chambers and its door-ways, and its porches at the second gate [served as] a drain,

e. Stone Edition Torah/Prophets/ Writings: There was a chamber there with its entrance facing the side walls of gates; there they would rinse the burnt offering.

1. “And the chambers and the entries thereof were by the posts of the gates…”

a.  [And the] chambers [Strong: 3957 lishkah lish-kaw' from an unused root of uncertain meaning; a room in a building (whether for storage, eating, or lodging):--chamber, parlour.] 

b. [and the] entries [thereof] [Strong: 6607 pethach peh'-thakh from 6605; an opening (literally), i.e. door (gate) or entrance way:--door, entering (in), entrance (-ry), gate, opening, place.]

c. [were by the] posts [Strong: 352 'ayil ah'-yil from the same as 193; properly, strength; hence, anything strong; specifically a chief (politically); also a ram (from his strength); a pilaster (as a strong support); an oak or other strong tree:--mighty (man), lintel, oak, post, ram, tree.]

d. [of the] gates [Strong: 8179 sha`ar shah'-ar from 8176 in its original sense; an opening, i.e. door or gate:--city, door, gate, port (X -er).]

2. “...where they washed the burnt offering.”

a. where [Strong: 8033 8033 sham shawm a primitive particle (rather from the relative pronoun, 834); there (transferring to time) then; often thither, or thence:--in it, + thence, there (-in, + of, + out), + thither, + whither.]

b. [they] washed [Strong: 1740 duwach doo'-akh a primitive root; to thrust away; figuratively, to cleanse:--cast out, purge, wash.]

c. [Strong: 853 'eth ayth apparent contracted from 226 in the demonstrative sense of entity; properly, self (but generally used to point out more definitely the object of a verb or preposition, even or namely):--(as such unrepresented in English).]

d. burnt offering [Strong: 5930 `olah o-law' or mowlah {o-law'}; feminine active participle of 5927; a step or (collectively, stairs, as ascending); usually a holocaust (as going up in smoke):--ascent, burnt offering (sacrifice), go up to.]
