Proverbs 1:11

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

1. “If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood..."

a. e. [let us] lay wait [Strong: 693 'arab aw-rab' a primitive root; to lurk:--(lie in) ambush(-ment), lay (lie in) wait.]

f. [for] blood [Strong: 1818 dam dawm from 1826 (Compare 119); blood (as that which when shed causes death) of man or an animal; by analogy, the juice of the grape; figuratively (especially in the plural) bloodshed (i.e. drops of blood):--blood(-y, -guiltiness, (-thirsty), + innocent.]

2. “...let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:”

a. b. [for the innocent [Strong: 5355 naqiy naw-kee' or naqiyi (Joel 4 : 19; Jonah 1 : 14), {naw-kee'}; from 5352; innocent:--blameless, clean, clear, exempted, free, guiltless, innocent, quit.]

c. without cause [Strong: 2600 chinnam khin-nawm' from 2580; gratis, i.e. devoid of cost, reason or advantage:--without a cause (cost, wages), causeless, to cost nothing, free(-ly), innocent, for nothing (nought, in vain.]
