Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.

1). Contrary to what some believe and teach, Paul was not a completely observant Jew. Though he circumcised Timothy to avoid a stumbling block to the Jews in Timothy’s home town (Acts 16:1-3), Paul was not at Jerusalem during the celebration of the Passover during the third missionary tour the year he was arrested in Jerusalem because he was in Ephesus (Acts 20:16). All male Jews were required to be at Jerusalem three times a year (Deuteronomy 16:16).
