And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

b. This day [Strong: 4594. semeron say'-mer-on neuter (as adverb) of a presumed compound of the article 3588 (t changed to s) and 2250; on the (i.e. this) day (or night current or just passed); generally, now (i.e. at present, hitherto):--this (to-)day.]

i. nothing [Strong: 3367. medeis may-dice', including the irregular feminine medemia may-dem-ee'-ah, and the neuter meden may-den' from 3361 and 1520; not even one (man, woman, thing):--any (man, thing), no (man), none, not (at all, any man, a whit), nothing, + without delay.

1). The Acts of the Apostles, Robert A. Tourville: Paul said they had not had a regular meal (asitoi siateleite) for fourteen days. They had become weak from a lack of food and overwork. Anxiety  deepened their exhausted condition. It was time to build up their strength.
