Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

j. [in the] stalls [Strong: 7517 repheth reh'-feth probably from 7503; a stall for cattle (from their resting there):--stall.]

1). David Levy: Conservative scholars believe the book was written during the reign of Jehoiakim (609-597 B.C). The devastation left by Babylon would be awesome. Judah would be depleted of all its natural resources: “the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no food; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls.
