Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

1. “Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God…”


a. Wherefore [Strong: 1352. dio dee-o' from 1223 and 3739; through which thing, i.e. consequently:--for which cause, therefore, wherefore.]


b. sirs [Strong: 435. aner an'-ayr a primary word (compare 444); a man (properly as an individual male):--fellow, husband, man, sir.]


c. [be of] good cheer [Strong: 2114. euthumeo yoo-thoo-meh'-o from 2115; to cheer up, i.e. (intransitively) be cheerful; neuter comparative (adverbially) more cheerfully:--be of good cheer (merry).]


d. for [Strong: 1063. gar gar a primary particle; properly, assigning a reason (used in argument, explanation or intensification; often with other particles):--and, as, because (that), but, even, for, indeed, no doubt, seeing, then, therefore, verily, what, why, yet.]
