As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.

1. “As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren…”

1). Here Paul recounts what happened to him when Christ Jesus appeared to him, first reported in Acts 9. He gets all the way until he says Jesus was going to send him to the Gentiles, and then all hell breaks loose and the chief captain has him brought back into the castle.
