And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

1. “And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful…”

1). This man was over 40 years old. So for many years he was carried to this spot in the Temple to beg. He surely was familiar to just about everybody who worshiped in Jerusalem regularly.
