Exodus 24:15

And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.

1). In all the translations it says that Moses and Joshua left the elders, but only one translation, the Septuagint says that Joshua went up on the mountain with Moses. It is clear that Joshua was unaware of what was going on down in the camp so he had to be far enough away for him to be unaware (Exodus 32:17). And the text says that Joshua did not hear the noise until he was with Moses so it implies they were walking together down the mountain. And then Moses because he had already been informed by the LORD (Exodus 32:7-15), told Joshua they were singing. They were partying. The point is Joshua was on the mountain but not in the immediate presence of Moses, but close enough that he experienced the glory of the LORD (Exodus 24:15).
