 Deuteronomy 2:13

Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered.

1). This is an important time marker. It was the thirty eighth year of the wandering in the desert.


a). Deuteronomy 2:14 And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them.


b). All the men of the first generation had died. Only four were left. Moses and Aaron and Joshua and Caleb were the only ones left. Aaron died in the fortieth year. Moses died in the fortieth year. Miriam died just prior to Aaron dying (Numbers 2:1; Numbers 20:22-29).
