 Zephaniah 1:17

And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

1. “And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD…”

2. “...and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.”

a. [and their] blood [Strong: 1818 dam dawm from 1826 (Compare 119); blood (as that which when shed causes death) of man or an animal; by analogy, the juice of the grape; figuratively (especially in the plural) bloodshed (i.e. drops of blood):--blood(-y, -guiltiness, (-thirsty), + innocent.]

[shall be] poured out [Strong: 8210 shaphak shaw-fak' a primitive root; to spill forth (blood, a libation, liquid metal; or even a solid, i.e. to mound up); also (figuratively) to expend (life, soul, complaint, money, etc.); intensively, to sprawl out:--cast (up), gush out, pour (out), shed(-der, out), slip.]

c. [as] dust [Strong: 6083 `aphar aw-fawr' from 6080; dust (as powdered or gray); hence, clay, earth, mud:--ashes, dust, earth, ground, morter, powder, rubbish.]

d. [and their] flesh [Strong: 3894 lachuwm law-khoom' or lachum {law-khoom'}; passive participle of 3898; properly, eaten, i.e. food; also flesh, i.e. body:--while...is eating, flesh.]
