e. Worrell Translation: And, Herod having died, bhold, an angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream in Egypt, saying.

1. “But when Herod was dead…”

a. but [1161 * de] [Strong: a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:--also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).]

b. Herod [2264 * Herodes] [Strong: compound of heros (a "hero") and 1491; heroic; Herod, the name of four Jewish kings:--Herod.]

c. dead [5053 * teleutao] [Strong: from a presumed derivative of 5055; to finish life (by implication, of 979), i.e. expire (demise):--be dead, decease, die.]

1). Most of the sources I looked at agreed that Herod died in 4 B.C.

2. “…behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,”

a. behold [2400 * idou] [Strong: second person singular imperative middle voice of 1492; used as imperative lo!; --behold, lo, see.]

b. angel [32 * aggelos] [Strong: from aggello (probably derived from 71; compare 34) (to bring tidings); a messenger; especially an "angel"; by implication, a pastor:--angel, messenger.]

c. Lord [2962 * kurios] [Strong: from kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication, Master (as a respectful title):-- God, Lord, master, Sir.]

d. appeareth [5316 * plaino] [Strong: prolongation for the base of 5457; to lighten (shine), i.e. show (transitive or intransitive, literal or figurative):-- appear, seem, be seen, shine, X think.]

e. in [2596 * kata] [Strong: a primary particle; (prepositionally) down (in place or time), in varied relations (according to the case (genitive, dative or accusative) with which it is joined):--about, according as (to), after, against, (when they were) X alone, among, and, X apart, (even, like) as (concerning, pertaining to touching), X aside, at, before, beyond, by, to the charge of, (charita-)bly, concerning, + covered, (dai-)ly, down, every, (+ far more) exceeding, X more excellent, for, from ... to, godly, in(-asmuch, divers, every, -to, respect of), ... by, after the manner of, + by any means, beyond (out of) measure, X mightily, more, X natural, of (up-)on (X part), out (of every), over against, (+ your) X own, + particularly, so, through(-oughout, -oughout every), thus, (un-)to(-gether, -ward), X uttermost, where(-by), with. In composition it retains many of these applications, and frequently denotes opposition, distribution, or intensity.]

f. dream [3677 * onar] [Strong: of uncertain derivation; a dream:--dream.]

g. Joseph [2501 * Ioseph [Strong: of Hebrew origin (3130); Joseph, the name of seven Israelites:--Joseph.]

h. Egypt [125 * Aiguptos] [Strong: of uncertain derivation:--Ægyptus, the land of the Nile:--Egypt.]
