1 Chronicles 13:10

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.

a. NLT: Then the LORD’s anger was aroused against Uzzah, and he struck him dead because he had laid his hand on the Ark. So Uzzah died there in the presence of God.

b. NIV: The LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had put his hand on the ark. So he died there before God.

c. YLT: and the anger of Jehovah is kindled against Uzza, and He smiteth him, because that he hath put forth his hand on the ark, and he dieth there before God.

1. “And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him…”

a. the anger [Strong: 639 * 'aph af from 599; properly, the nose or nostril; hence, the face, and occasionally a person; also (from the rapid breathing in passion) ire:--anger(-gry), + before, countenance, face, + forebearing, forehead, + (long-)suffering, nose, nostril, snout, X worthy, wrath.]

c. was kindled [Strong: 2734 * charah khaw-raw' a primitive root (Compare 2787); to glow or grow warm; figuratively (usually) to blaze up, of anger, zeal, jealousy:--be angry, burn, be displeased, X earnestly, fret self, grieve, be (wax) hot, be incensed, kindle, X very, be wroth.]

d. against Uzza  [Strong: 5798 * `Uzza' ooz-zaw' or (Uzzah {ooz-zaw'}; feminine of 5797; strength; Uzza or Uzzah, the name of five Israelites:--Uzza, Uzzah.]

e. and he smote him [Strong: 5221 * nakah naw-kaw' a primitive root; to strike (lightly or severely, literally or figuratively):--beat, cast forth, clap, give (wounds), X go forward, X indeed, kill, make (slaughter), murderer, punish, slaughter, slay(-er, -ing), smite(-r, -ing), strike, be stricken, (give) stripes, X surely, wound.]

2. “…because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.”
