1 Chronicles 15:21

And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.

a. NLT: Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah were chosen to play the lyres.

b. NIV: and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel and Azaziah were to play the harps, directing according to sheminith.

c. YLT: and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps, on the octave, to oversee.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah were to lead with lyres set to Sheminith [the bass voice].

e. Septuagint: And Mattathias, and Eliphalu, and Makenia, and Abdedom, and Jeiel, and Ozias, with harps of Amasenith, to make a loud noise.

c. and Mikneiah [Strong: 4737 * Miqneyahuw mik-nay-yaw'-hoo from 4735 and 3050; possession of Jah; Miknejah, an Israelite:--Mikneiah.]

d. and Obededom [Strong: 5654 * `Obed 'Edowm o-bade' ed-ome' from the active participle of 5647 and 123; worker of Edom; Obed-Edom, the name of five Israelites: --Obed-edom.]

e. and Jeiel [Strong: 3273 * Y`iy'el yeh-ee-ale' from 3261 and 410; carried away of God; Jeiel, the name of six Israelites:--Jeiel, Jehiel.]

f. and Azaziah [Strong: 5812 * `Azazyahuw az-az-yaw'-hoo from 5810 and 3050; Jah has strengthened; Azazjah, the name of three Israelites:--Azaziah.]

2. “…with harps on the Sheminith to excel.”

a. with harps [Strong: 3658 * kinnowr kin-nore' from a unused root meaning to twang; a harp: -harp.]

c. the Sheminith [Strong: 8067 * shmiyniyth shem-ee-neeth' feminine of 8066; probably an eight-stringed lyre:--Sheminith.]

d. to excel [Strong: 5329 * natsach naw-tsakh' a primitive root; properly, to glitter from afar, i.e. to be eminent (as a superintendent, especially of the Temple services and its music); also (as denominative from 5331), to be permanent:--excel, chief musician (singer), oversee(-r), set forward.]
