Obadiah 4

Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.

1. “Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle…”

a. b. thou exalt [thyself] [Strong: 1361 gabahh gaw-bah' a primitive root; to soar, i.e. be lofty; figuratively, to be haughty:--exalt, be haughty, be (make) high(-er), lift up, mount up, be proud, raise up great height, upward.]

c. [as the] eagle [Strong: 5404 nesher neh'-sher from an unused root meaning to lacerate; the eagle (or other large bird of prey):--eagle.]

2. “…and though thou set thy nest among the stars…”

d. among [Strong: 996 beyn bane (sometimes in the plural masculine or feminine); properly, the constructive form of an otherwise unused noun from 995; a distinction; but used only as a prep, between (repeated before each noun, often with other particles); also as a conjunction, either...or:--among, asunder, at, between (-twixt...and), + from (the widest), X in, out of, whether (it be...or), within.]

e. the stars [Strong: 3556 kowkab ko-kawb' probably from the same as 3522 (in the sense of rolling) or 3554 (in the sense of blazing); a star (as round or as shining); figuratively, a prince:--star((-gazer)).]

3. “…thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.”

d. the LORD [Strong: 3068 Yhovah yeh-ho-vaw' from 1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God:--Jehovah, the Lord.]
