Romans 2:1
Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art
that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for
thou that judgest doest the same things.

1). There are some instances where
we are commanded not to judge.
a). Matthew 7:1, 2 Judge not, that
ye be not judged.
7:2 For with what judgment ye judge,
ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you
again.
c). James 4:11 Speak not evil one
of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth
his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge
the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
2). There are some cercomstances
where we are to judge. All of 1
Corinthians 5 deals with Paul instructing the church to excommunicate the brother
in the church that was committing fornication. The passage ends with the use of
judge.
a). 1 Corinthians 5:9-13 I wrote
unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
5:10 Yet not altogether with the
fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with
idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
5:11 But now I have written unto
you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator,
or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner;
with such an one no not to eat.
5:12 For what have I to do to
judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
5:13 But them that are without God
judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
b). 1 Corinthians 14:29 Let the
prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
3). Other uses of the word for
judge.
a). 1 Corinthians 6:1-6 Dare any of you, having a
matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
6:2 Do ye not know that the saints
shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy
to judge the smallest matters?
6:3 Know ye not that we shall
judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
6:4 If then ye have judgments of
things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the
church.
6:5 I speak to your shame. Is it
so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to
judge between his brethren?
6:6 But brother goeth to law with
brother, and that before the unbelievers.
b). John 7:24 Judge not according
to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
