The
Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission
and
the Word of God.
Zephaniah
2:8-10 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of
Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against
their border.
2:9 Therefore
as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as
Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and
salt pits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil
them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.
2:10
This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and
magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.
1. The spirit of
homosexuality will manifest itself in the same way in every culture it is
introduced. The same behavior and characteristics manifest regardless if it is in
21st century America, 19th century B.C. Sodom, or 7th
century Moab and Ammon. One clear example is homosexual pride, pride in their
homosexuality was a manifested characteristic of 19th century Sodom just as it
is worldwide in the 21st century A.D. Just as 7th century
Moab and Ammon reviled and reproached the kingdom of Judah, God’s people, the
spirit of homosexuality in the 21st century, reviles and reproaches
Christianity.
a). reproach [Strong: 2781 cherpah kher-paw' from 2778;
contumely, disgrace, the pudenda:--rebuke, reproach(-fully), shame. : a scornful insult.] [Gesenius: reproach,
scorn, contempt, taunt, scorn (upon enemy), reproach (resting upon condition of
shame, disgrace).] [Complete Word Study Dictionary Of The Old Testament: A
feminine noun meaning reproach, scorn, taunt. The term can be used for a taunt
hurled at an enemy…]
b).
revilings [Strong: 1421 gidduwph
ghid-doof' or (shortened) gidduph {ghid-doof'}; and (feminine) gidduphah
{ghid-doo-faw'}; or gidduphah {ghid-doo-faw'}; from 1422;
vilification:--reproach, reviling.] [Complete Word Study Dictionary Of The Old
Testament: A masculine noun indicating insult, scorn, revilement…It describes
the scorn and Israel’s enemies heap upon them.]
2. The people of Moab and Ammon slanderously heaped up shame,
disgrace, scorn and contempt on God’s people and in this case Judah, but what
the prophet was reflecting upon is how what happened to Israel mirrored what
happened in Sodom. They slandered, taunted, and heaped shame and disgrace on
God’s people. In light of Jesus’ statement in Luke 17:28-30 “Likewise also as
it was in the days of Lot… Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man
is revealed”, we can expect that God’s people, the church will experience the
same reproach, the same reviling upon them. True to the accuracy of the Word of
God that is exactly what is happening.
a). A perfect
example of the spirit of homosexuality reviling against God’s people, similar to Moab and Ammon and Sodom and Gomorrah occurred in
July of 1998, when a group of Christian organizations launched a campaign
called “Truth in Love”. These groups placed a number of ads in national
newspapers proclaiming the Biblical truth that Jesus can set free and forgive
the homosexual. It was done in a very loving and gentle way. Many former
homosexuals set free by the power of God, contributed and took part in the ads.
Homosexual groups responded to the Christian ads in exactly the same way the
nations of Moab and Ammon responded to the people of God. They scornfully insulted
the Christian groups and used slander against them. On July 27, 2000, Family
News in Focus, a website of Focus on the Family, reported that in San
Francisco, the city Board of Supervisors said the ads contributed to “horrible
crimes against gays and lesbians”. They even claimed the ads were partially
responsible for the death of Matthew Shepard. To say that presenting the gospel
in a loving way contributes to “horrible crimes” is slander.
3. As in all “landmark” Supreme Court cases, boundary lines are
redrawn and in some cases completely removed. Some landmark cases have proved
good while some from their beginnings were ungodly and destructive. In the
latter case we have the warning of Proverbs 22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark,
which thy fathers have set. Every Supreme Court case that dealt with
homosexuality, except the second, Bowers V. Hardwick (1986), and the fourth, Boy Scouts of
America v. Dale (2000), removed godly boundaries. All the others, One, Inc. v. Olesen (1958); Romer v. Evans (1996); Lawrence v. Texas (2003); United States v.
Windsor (2013); Hollingsworth v. Perry (2013); Obergefell v. Hodges (2015)
removed godly boundaries, boundaries which God had set in his word.
a). In
Zephaniah 2:8 the prophet declares that Moab and Ammon magnified themselves
against God’s by magnifying themselves against the borders of his people.
b) The Stone
Edition Torah/Writings/Prophets of Zephaniah 2:8 says: I have heard the taunt
of Moab and the jeers of the Children of Ammon who taunted My people, and
expanded their territory along their border.
c). The
Amplified Bible of Zephaniah 2:8 says, I have heard the taunting of Moab and
the reviling’s of the sons of Ammon, With which they have taunted My people and
become arrogant against their territory by violating Israel’s boundary and
trying to seize its land.
d). Two
examples of removing boundaries, of seizing land are removing laws (the boundaries,
1 Timothy 1:8-11), that forbid homosexual behavior, Lawrence v. Texas; and
rewriting the institution of marriage to include homosexual marriage, Obergefell
v. Hodges.
4. Masterpiece
Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission is another attempt of the spirit
of homosexuality to remove boundaries that protect civil society including God’s
people. It is attempting to seize more land and expand their territory. If they
succeed, in a civil rights sphere, they will be trampling on the First Amendment
of the Bill of Rights, and again, rewriting the Constitution to favor homosexuality
over Christianity, in its ultimate goal of shutting down Christianity
completely from saying anything against homosexuality. They will also unbeknownst
to them fulfill the prophetic words of Jesus in Luke 17:28-30. “Likewise also
as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold,
they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it
rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall
it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” How this is going to play
out I don’t know. Justice Kennedy will probably be the deciding vote. Kennedy
wrote Romer v. Evans (1996), Lawrence v. Texas (2003), Obergefell v. Hodges
(2015), and United States v. Windsor (2013), all decisions that furthered
sexual licentiousness. We need to pray that the justices will uphold the First
Amendment of the Bill of Rights, which one purpose was written to protect a
Christian’s right to exercise his religious rights.

Have you ever considered concerning adding a little bit
more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is basic and
everything. Nevertheless think about if you added some good pictures or
video clips to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is superb but with images and clips, this site could certainly be one of the most beneficial in its
