I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

1. “I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night…”

a. [I have] set [Strong: 6485 paqad paw-kad' a primitive root; to visit (with friendly or hostile intent); by analogy, to oversee, muster, charge, care for, miss, deposit, etc.:--appoint, X at all, avenge, bestow, (appoint to have the, give a) charge, commit, count, deliver to keep, be empty, enjoin, go see, hurt, do judgment, lack, lay up, look, make, X by any means, miss, number, officer, (make) overseer, have (the) oversight, punish, reckon, (call to) remember(-brance), set (over), sum, X surely, visit, want.]

[O] Jerusalem [Strong: 3389 Yruwshalaim yer-oo-shaw-lah'-im rarely Yruwshalayim {yer-oo- shaw-lah'-yim}; a dual (in allusion to its two main hills (the true pointing, at least of the former reading, seems to be that of 3390)); probably from (the passive participle of) 3384 and 7999; founded peaceful; Jerushalaim or Jerushalem, the capital city of Palestine:--Jerusalem.]

2. “...ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,”

a. b. [of the] LORD [Strong: 3068 Yᵉhôvâh, yeh-ho-vaw'; from H1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jeho-vah, Jewish national name of God:—Jehovah, the Lord.]

c. [keep] not [Strong: 408 'al al a negative particle (akin to 3808); not (the qualified negation, used as a deprecative); once (Job 24:25) as a noun, nothing:--nay, neither, + never, no ,nor, not, nothing (worth), rather than.]

d. silence [Strong: 1824 dmiy dem-ee' or domiy {dom-ee'}; from 1820; quiet:--cutting off, rest, silence.]

At that time her salvation will be evident to all (Isaiah 62:1). The nations about israel will observe her righteousness and glory (Isaiah 62:2). Israel was compared to a crown or a royal diadem (Isaiah 62:3). Though she once was as desolate, now she will be called “Hephzibah,” meaning “My delight is in her,” and her land “Beulah,” meaning “married one,” for “the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married” (Isaiah 62:4). Her restoration was described as a joyful marriage. Israel will never have to surrender to foreigners her new wine or her crops (Isaiah 62:6-9). Israel was challenged to prepare the road for the King (Isaiah 62:10, 11). The people of Israel themselves will be described as “the Holy People (Isaiah 62:12).
