Leviticus 23:17
Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.

f. NOTE: Leviticus 23:15-22 describes the offering of the firstfruits after the harvest is complete. The firstfruits of the offering during the week of Unleavened bread is the firstfruits of raw grain, while the offering of the firstfruits 50 days later is the offering of two loaves made from the new grain.

Unger’s Bible Dictionary: This festival is called (1) the feast of Weeks (exodus 34:22; Deuteronomy 16:10; 2 Chronicles 8:13), because it was celebrated seven complete weeks, or fifty days, after the Passover (Leviticus 23:15, 16); (2) the feast of the Harvest (Exodus 23:16), because it concluded the harvest of the later grains; and (3) the day of the firstfruits (Numbers 28:26), because of the first loaves made from the new grain were then offered on the altar (Leviticus 23:17;).
