1.
“A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle…”
a. a minister [3011 * leitourgos]
[Strong: from a derivative of 2992 and 2041; a public servant, i.e. a
functionary in the Temple or Gospel, or (genitive case) a worshipper (of God)
or benefactor (of man):--minister(-ed).]
b. of the sanctuary [39 * hagion]
[Strong: neuter of 40; a sacred thing (i.e. spot):--holiest (of all), holy
place, sanctuary.]
c. and [2532 * kai] [Strong: apparently,
a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force;
and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition)
with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or,
so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]
d. of the true [228 * alethinos]
[Strong: from 227; truthful:--true.]
e. tabernacle [4633 * skene] [Strong:
apparently akin to 4632 and 4639; a tent or cloth hut (literally or
figuratively):--habitation, tabernacle.]
1). There is a tabernacle in heaven
of which the one that Moses and Israel built is a copy. The ministry of the
priests is only a copy of how our great High Priest Jesus ministers in the
heavenly tabernacle.
a). Hebrews 8:3-5 For every high
priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man
have somewhat also to offer.
8:4 For if he were on earth, he
should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts
according to the law:
8:5 Who serve unto the example and
shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to
make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed
to thee in the mount.
2.
“…which the Lord pitched, and not man.”
a. which [3739 * hos] [Strong: including
feminine he hay, and neuter ho ho probably a primary word (or perhaps
a form of the article 3588); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun,
who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which,
who(-m, -se), etc.]]
b. the Lord [2962 * kurios] [Strong:
from kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by
implication, Master (as a respectful title):-- God, Lord, master, Sir.]
c. pitched [4078 * pegnumi]
[Strong: a prolonged form of a primary verb (which in its simpler form occurs
only as an alternate in certain tenses); to fix ("peg"), i.e.
(specially) to set up (a tent):--pitch.]
d. and [2532 * kai] [Strong: apparently,
a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force;
and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition)
with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or,
so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]
e. not [3756 * ou] [Strong: also
(before a vowel) ouk ook, and (before an aspirate) ouch ookh a primary
word; the absolute negative (compare 3361) adverb; no or not:--+ long, nay,
neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy),
when, + without, + yet but.]
f. man [444 * anthropos] [Strong: from
435 and ops (the countenance; from 3700); man-faced, i.e. a human
being:--certain, man.]
1). The tabernacle in heaven was
not built by man but by God.
