Hebrews 6:19

Hebrews 6:19

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

a. NLT: This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

b. NIV: We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

c. YLT: which we have, as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and entering into that within the vail,

d. Amplified Bible:  [Now] we have this [hope] as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whoever steps out upon it—a hope] that reaches farther and enters into [the very certainty of the Presence] within the veil,

e. Worrell Translation: which we have as an acchor of the soul, both sure and firm, and entering into the place within the veil;

e. of the soul [5590 * psuche] [Strong: from 5594; breath, i.e. (by implication) spirit, abstractly or concretely (the animal sentient principle only; thus distinguished on the one hand from 4151, which is the rational and immortal soul; and on the other from 2222, which is mere vitality, even of plants: these terms thus exactly correspond respectively to the Hebrew 5315, 7307 and 2416):--heart (+ -ily), life, mind, soul, + us, + you.]

2. “…both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”

d. steadfast [949 * bebaios] [Strong: from the base of 939 (through the idea of basality); stable (literally or figuratively):--firm, of force, stedfast, sure.]
