Micah 3:1

Micah 3:1

And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?

a. NLT: I said, “Listen, you leaders of Israel! You are supposed to know right from wrong,

b. NIV: Then I said, “Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel. Should you not embrace justice,

c. YLT: And I say, 'Hear, I pray you, heads of Jacob, And ye judges of the house of Israel, Is it not for you to know the judgment?

d. Amplified Bible: And I [Micah] said, Hear, I pray you, you heads of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel! Is it not for you to know justice?—

e. Septuagint: And he shall say, Hear now these words, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and ye remnant of the house of Israel; is it not for you to know judgment?

a. 2. “…O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel…”

c. and ye princes [7101 * qatsiyn] [Strong: from 7096 in the sense of determining; a magistrate (as deciding) or other leader:--captain, guide, prince, ruler.]

d. of the house [1004 * bayith] [Strong: probably from 1129 abbreviated; a house (in the greatest variation of applications, especially family, etc.):--court, daughter, door, + dungeon, family, + forth of, X great as would contain, hangings, home(born), (winter)house(-hold), inside(-ward), palace, place, + prison, + steward, + tablet, temple, web, + within(-out).]

e. of Israel [3478 * Yisra'el] [Strong: from 8280 and 410; he will rule as God; Jisrael, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity: --Israel.]

3. “…Is it not for you to know judgment?”
