1 Corinthians 11:26
For
as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death
till he come.
a. NLT: For every time you
eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he
comes again.
b. NIV: For
whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death
until he comes.
c. YLT: for as
often as ye may eat this bread, and this cup may drink, the death of the Lord
ye do shew forth -- till he may come;
d. Amplified Bible
Classic: For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are
representing and signifying and proclaiming
the fact of the Lord’s death until He comes [again].
e. Worrell

c. death [2288 * Thanatos]

1). Showing the
Lord’s death is as the definitions say, we declare, we preach, we proclaim his

come or go (in a great variety of applications, literally and
figuratively):--accompany, appear, bring, come, enter, fall out, go, grow, X
light, X next, pass, resort, be set.]
1). It seems the
first verses of this passage, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 show the positive side and
wonderful benefits of taking communion where the last verses of the passage, 1
Corinthians 11:27-32 show the negative, or the dangers of not taking it as
seriously as needed.
