Romans 4:8

Romans 4:8

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

a. NLT: Yes, what joy for those whose record the LORD has cleared of sin.”

b. NIV: Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”

c. YLT: happy the man to whom the Lord may not reckon sin.'

d. Amplified Bible Classic: Blessed and happy and to be envied is the person of whose sin the Lord will take no account nor reckon it against him.

e. Worrell Translation: Happy is the man to whom the Lord will not reckon sin.”

1. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

a. Blessed [3107 * makarios] [Strong: a prolonged form of the poetical makar (meaning the same); supremely blest; by extension, fortunate, well off:-- blessed, happy(X -ier).]

b. is the man [435 * aner] [Strong: a primary word (compare 444); a man (properly as an individual male):--fellow, husband, man, sir.]

c. to whom [3739 * hos; including feminine he; and neuter ho] [Strong: probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article 3588); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc.]

d. the Lord [2962 * kurios] [Strong: from kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication, Master (as a respectful title):-- God, Lord, master, Sir.]

e. will…impute [3049 * logizomai] [Strong: middle voice from 3056; to take an inventory, i.e. estimate (literally or figuratively):--conclude, (ac-)count (of), + despise, esteem, impute, lay, number, reason, reckon, suppose, think (on).]

f. not [3364 * ou me] [Strong: 3756 and 3361; a double negative strengthening the denial; not at all:--any more, at all, by any (no) means, neither, never, no (at all), in no case (wise), nor ever, not (at all, in any wise).]

g. sin [266 * hamartia] [Strong: from 264; a sin (properly abstract):--offence, sin(-ful).]

1). This is the essence of the New Covenant because of what jesus has done.

a). Hebrews 10:16-18 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
